Pet wash fundraiser, all the proceeds from pet wash tokens sold that day will go to CARDA. Buy a pet wash token at any Pet Food Express Store on May 5th 2012 and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to help CARDA search and rescue dogs continue their life-saving work. You do not need to bathe your dog on the day of the dog wash: you can save the tokens for later, give them to friends or donate them back to CARDA for use in bathing dirty search dogs! Search dogs and their handlers will be at all the stores to meet the public. Pet Food Express stores will also be accepting cash donations to CARDA at their registers for the entire weekend.

The Monterey Scottish Games & Festival will feature exciting Scottish heavy athletic competition events, including the famous Caber Toss. Great entertainment will be provided by professional Celtic Pipe Bands. Exciting colorful activities will include the massed pipe bands, Drum Major and Pipe Band competitions, Highland Dancing, Irish Step Dancing, Sheepdog Herding, Historical Re-enactment Groups, and Clan and Celtic Association Tents. Attendees can stroll through the Avenue of Clans, visit one of the Clan tents and trace their ancestry. There will be lots of fun special events planned for the wee ones at the Children's Games, too. Over 50 vendors offering tasty British and Scottish food and drink, and unique Scottish and Irish crafts, jewelry, clothing, and music will be enjoyed by all. The Monterey Bay Scottish Terrier Social Club and other Celtic breeds will be on hand, as well.

Cars are divided into groups according to age, engine size and must be period-correct in their presentation.

The "Kelp Crawl" will test your swimming ability, the looped bike course will give you a chance to go full throttle and power your way into the final stretch by running along the scenic recreation trail down and back to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

This local event is part of a nationwide celebration known as "Take-A-Kid-Mountain-Biking Day", supported by the International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA). The event purpose is to provide a means for kids and their families to enjoy local trails together. The Monterey County Parks Department will allow bikes on certain Toro Park trails that are usually closed so beginners can enjoy a safe ride. Local bike shops have donated products along with contributions from IMBA and Cliffbar.

An eloquent expression of grief and loss set to Dvorak's choral work of the same name. Stabat Mater has been called "a powerful response to a national tragedy. . . one of the most beautiful ballets in this choreographer's remarkable career" (San Francisco Chronicle). Sharing the program is The Eternal Idol, a pas de deux Smuin created for American Ballet Theatre in 1969.
